In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed. They produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.
The Third Man (1949)
While funny, this bit of cynicism from Orson Welles diminishes the fact that the engineering behind the cuckoo clock was one of the great feats of the mid 17th century. It was the start of the development that turned into the Industrial Revolution that so dramatically changed Western civilization. Slow but steady can also work, as well as dramatic, painful upheaval.
Suffering brought about the work you have been doing on chronic illness. It is likely that you have a very different view of the world and politics, and probably your family and friends, because of it. You have very likely learned a lot that you would not have known had you not become sick. Well, on with the next piece of what you need to know.
I have gone over the beginning steps of starting methylation very thoroughly since the beginning of January. The information is posted on http://www.NancyMullanMD.com/blog. There is a tremendous amount of information that you need to glean from what happens when you begin the first few supplements. It is all detailed in the short blog posts there.
Next, your attention must shift to your GI tract. Methylation enhances immune system function, and a number of the problems that happen with your GI tract involve inappropriate or inadequate immune system response to the many organisms that are there. If you have the symptoms of parasites, you need to test for and deal with them. Most people need digestive enzymes, so get them in place when necessary. Those are the most fundamental GI interventions.
At the same time as you are doing that brief, initial foray into GI health, you start to take a look at mineral balance with a hair test and a urine test for minerals. Do a urine amino acid test to find out the levels of the important amino acids in your methyl group producing pathway. It tells you how your methylation pathway is working. If you are eating adequate protein and your amino acids are low, there is something wrong with your digestion that will need to be remedied. From this point on, you are working along two different tracks: you are enhancing both methylation and GI function in order to bring your body into balance.
It is up to YOU to learn about treating your chronic illness successfully…
You need to know about the role of optimizing both methyl group production and your capacity for methylation in order to be healthy.
This is your opportunity.

So excellent! I literally learn something on every single call and I get clarification on things that have been lingering on my mind…
You are giving people a huge gift by empowering them…It’s about helping the patient become their own healer by taking them to a higher level of consciousness…
Thank you so much Dr. Mullan. Thank you so, so much for everything you do.
Wow! I have to tell you, this was such an uplifting call. It’s so nice to hear good news especially about a child. Anxiety, OCD and a host of other mental/psychiatric symptoms have been a huge hurdle for me. So to hear this story of all those awful symptoms totally going away is such a bright light for me!!!!
This is brilliant. I hope a lot of people not doing methylation work will see this. I wish I’d seen this before I started doing daily injections of B12 and folic acid and ended up in a crisis. Maybe had I known to have the genetic methylation stuff going, the IV therapies I did that really helped would not have been so traumatic…
